	The barracks area was of a standardized lay-out, consisting of standard buildings in brick or wood. The U-shaped accommodation barrack is very conspicuous on an aerial photo, but it was also built in an L-shaped or linear model. The T-Hütte and Wirtschaftsbaracke were also very characteristic and they were always present in the shape depicted below. The small garden, sometimes with a flagpole or a monument in the center, was also a commonly seen feature.

	*The area in FAULTIER summer 1945. Part of the U-shaped barrack has been detached, the T-Hütte* and Wirtschaftsbaracke are quite conspicuous.**		AAR in 1988. Part of the U-shaped barrack was (is ?) still standing.

	In the Netherlands a whole range of special bunkers were used in the costal area Stellungen - the so called Küver-Bunkers. In the in-land sites the buildings were of brick with a flat concrete roof, some of them in Stahlbetonskelet Bauweise. These partly or fully replaced the barracks. For more details on the Küver-Bunkers please see the excellent book by Klaas van Brakel and Jeroen Rijpsma "Küver-Bunkers".

	In France and Poland a series of altogether different buildings were used. Based on photographic evidence these seems to be the of the same standard design. It was specified, that they should offer protection against small arms fire (Blockhäuser (Bodenwaffenbeschuss-sicher)) and frequently they were fully or partly dug in. Based on "Richtlinien für den Ausbau von Such-u. Grossuchstellungen für den Tag- u. Nachtjagd im bereich des Höh.Jafü West g.Kdos 20.7.1943" these designs were:

	Auswertebaracken: H 43* and H 44.*
	Betriebsstelle für Funk und Leuchtfeuer.
	Geschäftszimmerbaracken: Typ 44 and 52.
	Wirtschaftsbaracken: Typ 62, 63, 45, 46, 56 and 55.
	Offiziers-Unterkünfte: Typ 40 and 51.
	Mannschafts-Unterkünfte: Typ 41, 41a, 41b, 41Ab, 42, 42b, 53, 43 and 54.
	Ln.-Helferinnen-Unterkünfte: H 59.
	Aufenthaltsbaracke: Typ 47.
	Abort- und Waschbaracken: Typ 61 and 48.
	Waschbaracken: Typ 49
	Revirbaracken: Typ 57, 57A, 58.
