Gefechtsstand Bunkers.

The Luftnachrichten Dienst.

  5 Jagddivision, Durlach, Name unknown.
  Callsign for Sprechfunk: VIOLA.

After a short spell in Namur 5 JD was reestablished in Durlach on 9 SEP 1944.  It has hitherto been impossible to find any information on the location of the Gef.Std. But the ULTRA message below confirms the location as of 09 SEP 1944.  It is also noteworthy that there was a Verstärkeramt in Karlsruhe.

I have been unable to find any documentation on the location of the Gef.Std. in Durlach, but the most probable location was Schloss Karlsburg, which was turned into a Kaserne (barracks) around 1900.  And Luftwaffe commanders had a great affinity for castles :-).

5 Jagddivision, Schloss Lindich, Hechingen, Name unknown.
  Callsign for Sprechfunk: VIOLA.

This location has been a nightmare for years since it everywhere is given as Durlach.  And it was not resolved until I came upon the below ULTRA intercept as of 31 DEC 1944.  This now has turned out to be an additional location, which generally was unknown.

It turns out that Schloss Lindich in August 1939 was established as a HQ for V Fliegerkorps and served as such for six month during the campaign against the west in 1940.  When the Korps left, it served as a NCO school until the arrival of 5 JD around 15 DEC 1944.  A major communication node existed already at Heckingen.
